Backstory

Kumo was born in Tokyo. Founder Eloise was working in fashion there, surrounded by a city where nothing is left unaccessorised: bags, phones, hair, all layered with tiny details that made every outfit feel personal. Back home, that kind of individuality was hard to find. Kumo was imagined to fill that gap.

Kumo means cloud in Japanese: no two are ever the same, and neither are any of the shoewear designs. We make accessories for trainer lovers who want their rotation to say something no one else's does.

The debut collection, Ossify, is inspired by what lies beneath the surface: the hidden structure that makes us who we are, through an x-ray lens. Every piece is designed and made by us in small batches, so nothing is mass-produced and everything is made with intention. Choose between Mini's, with minimalist design, or Maxi's for a more maximalist design and size. Lace them on, switch them up, make them yours.

And we're only getting started. Pop-ups, collabs, and one day bringing Kumo back to Tokyo, where it all began.
